The Goldfields Environmental Management Group (GEMG) 2027 Conference call for abstracts is now open. Abstracts submitted are screened by the GEMG Committee against the below criteria of:
Relevance to the Conference theme of ‘sharing experiences in environmental practice’;
Relevance to the intended Conference audience of environmental practitioners;
Intent and subject of the abstract is readily apparent;
Abstract is professionally written and fully thought out;
Must demonstrate novel ideas, concepts, learnings or outcomes;
Element of audience participation included is desirable; and
Abstract is not a ‘sales pitch’ for a company, product, or government initiative (i.e. sharing experience must be the focus of the abstract).
We encourage abstracts that facilitate audience participation, are on case studies, new and innovative information or a group presentation that could be brought together as a panel discussion. Engaging speakers, interesting presentations, and ensuring there are no repetitive presentations are additional criteria considered by the GEMG Committee when voting on abstracts.
A presenter may submit multiple abstracts, however in the essence of encouraging broader participation, the GEMG Committee may request the presenter choose between their submissions. Different presenters from the same organisation may submit abstracts, but these must demonstrate reasonably distinct subject matter.
Note, it is the presenters responsibility to obtain company and client permission regarding subject matter and it is assumed this has been obtained for all abstracts submitted.
